After two days in Kathmandu, the real adventure of Deluxe Island peak climbing begins with an exciting 35-minute mountain flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport Lukla.Lukla Airport is the shortest and main gateway for all trekking and climbing trips in Everest National Park, which has more than 90 majestic peaks, including Mount Everest.
Right after landing at Lukla Airport, our adventure journey starts with a short and moderate level of trek to Phakding today, and the next day we trek to Namche Bazzar, the popular tourist hub for rest days at an altitude of 3440m, where most trekkers and climbers need to stay at least two nights for best acclimatization prior to heading toward further higher elevation. The second acclimatization day is at Pheriche at an altitude of approximately 4300m.
Island peak, the most famous and trekkers' choice trekking peak situated at an altitude of 6160m, is the main target peak to summit during this itinerary of Deluxe Island peak climbing. In order to support full physical fitness and best acclimatization with weather, before the summit of Island peak, we will first complete a successful trek to Everest base camp (5364m) as well as Kala Patthar (5545m). So, climbing Island Peak also fulfills your dream trip to trek or hike to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world.
This deluxe island peak expedition includes trekking to Mount Everest base camp, Kala Patthar, and the summit of Nepal's most popular trekking peak.Technically moderately challenging, this trip needs good physical fitness and a little rock climbing or small mountain climbing experience can be helpful.

This expedition requires good physical fitness for high-altitude trekking and climbing. You have to trek at least 5-8 hrs. a day and do two days of mountain climbing to reach the 6160m island peak. This expedition is therefore graded as a moderate-challenging trekking and climbing expedition. You have to prepare for this expedition with daily walking or hiking, and running of 1-2 hrs. after the expedition is booked.
The best season for a Deluxe Island peak expedition:
We have two best seasons for trekking and island peak climbing trips. One of the best seasons is fall, from mid-September to mid-December. However, the best climbing and trekking periods are October and November. The spring season starts from March to May and the best period is from April to May. If you want to trek during the low season, the months of June to September are the least crowded with trekkers.
